ASP Batons - 26" Friction Loc Expandable Baton:
ASP has defined expandable batons for 30 years. The classic Friction Loc ASP baton is the most widely used police baton. ASP Friction Loc batons are constructed of 4140 steel that is significantly stronger than 4130 steel used by other manufacturers. In most cases, the sound of an ASP baton being deployed is enough of a deterrent.
ASP batons have many options for handles, shafts & accessories.
The DuraTec grip is an injected molded mostly firm textured grip. DuraTec grips are permanently bonded to the baton. Foamed vinyl grips are softer, extremely reliable and also replaceable.
ASP Friction Loc batons are available with an Airweight, Chrome or Black Chrome shaft. Each having its own set of advantages. The Airweight shaft makes deployment faster, resulting in quick response times to any threat. The chrome finish provides a nice look and corrosion resistance. Black Chrome provides a tactical, non-reflective finish.
ASP Friction Loc Batons are impact released, easily retracted by knocking a hard surface. The Friction Loc baton is an Elite Impact weapon, utilized globally by the most advanced Law Enforcement Agencies. With a simple, compact design produced with duty grade materials, this ASP Baton outperforms and outlasts all competitors.
Recommend by my police academy instructor. I see why they recommended it. It's really durable and collapses the way you'd hope for.
One of my instructors at the police academy recommended ASP Baton. She is retired from HPD and brought her over 10 years old, still in excellent shape ASP Baton. Upon receiving my 26" ASP baton, I immediately feel that it is made with very solid materials, I get a lot better grip, and I can control way better than my S&W baton. I have full confidence that my 26" ASP will serve me well for many years to come.
After looking around I found a great deal from baton warehouse. No problems at any level: ordering, payment, shipping etc. Baton came and works well, no problems, excellent. I would recommend both ASP and baton wraehouse.
it's a baton, we all know what to expect. No surprises, nothing out of the ordinary, great baton. Works really well if you need something to whack somebody with but you also want it to be collapsible.
When lethal defense is discouraged these lengths are both appropriate for negotiating a threat. The 26" is better for legs or when longer distancing is preferred while the shorter 21" is best for closer encounters, reduced weight and concealment. (BTW they are also considered lethal if used inconsistent with proper training...the tips are able to shatter a brick when deployed and applied correctly.) Overall, these batons are of the highest quality...and for those first timers the tension of the telescoping mechanism is somewhat adjustable in the cap and can be used predictably for applications under normal wear and tear. In a time of product shortages and shipping delays...this company accurately and quickly shipped my order and with fast and friendly correspondence!
