Smith & Wesson 21" Aluminum Baton & Holder:

The Smith & Wesson S.W.A.T. lightweight baton is as effective as it is light. Lightweight construction makes deployment faster without sacrificing strength. High strength steel and aluminum construction ensures this baton is sturdy in the most demanding situations. The rounded steel baton tip is designed to apply pressure, but not break the skin of any attacker. Batons are an effective defense tool. The 21” Smith & Wesson S.W.A.T. baton is just 8” in the collapsed position and weighs only 9oz. This baton utilizes the friction lock mechanism, to close the baton simply hit the tip on a hard surface in a straight downward motion. This baton has a foam grip and includes a nylon Smith & Wesson baton holder. The included baton holder is designed to fit 2.25" police duty belts.

Compact little package of peace of mind

This baton is nice. Lightweight, fits nicely in my man-bag, snaps open easily and shows every indicator of being effective in what’s it supposed to be effective at. Important that you not be shy about striking it on a hard surface to close it (but think about it.....what use would it serve if it collapsed easily?). Service was quick and communication was thorough.

Friction baton

I ordered a few for my team, I had them engraved, baton works as intended, engraving was a nice touch.

Very quick, only three days. The baton is just as stated. I am recommending it to my friends.

Garbage!!!! Does not retract needs to he hit with a hammer or rammed on concrete then the soft metal dents and chips complete garbage
Thank you for your order. We strongly advise against hitting a baton with a hammer. This qualifies as misuse and will void the manufacturer warranty and will very possibly damage your baton..
These batons are purposefully hard to close, that way if you are ever using it in a defense situation it will not accidentally retract when you need it. We do get some customers who initially have trouble learning the right technique required to close them. Here are some videos that have helped other customers:

To close, the baton must be hit against the ground with authority, tip first in a straight up and down motion. Any angle in the downward motion will cause the baton to stay open, it takes a lot of practice to get it right and consistent. I prefer the “tap tap” method in the second video when first practicing with these batons.

Light, but sturdy

Awesome price from a brand you can trust. It's super light, can barely tell I added it to my belt, but seems sturdy enough to do it's job. You will want to put some lube at the joints as it is a bit of a task to collapse once deployed.
