Probably the Best There is in Extensible Batons

I have a long history with ASP batons of the friction lock variety, going back to training area LEO departments in the 80's in my state. Friction locks were the first to become available and ASP was the first company to perfect and evolve the design. So here we are now in the 2020's and I figure I'd try the new ASP DiscLoc button closing baton for personal use. I didn't find it perfect for a number of reasons, although workmanship and materials were still on the high end. Mainly, too much wobble and looseness in the shafts lock-up and too firm a pressure needed to unlock using the button.

So, now I see Baton Warehouse offering the new Bonawi EKA baton which I also saw on several German Police YouTube videos. Well, WOW! A solid baton that hits like a truck (steel version), has larger diameter shafts and closes effortlessly! Many accessories as well (as with the ASP), particularly the Grip Safety Ring. Liked the 16" steel so much I also opted for the 21" which is the standard baton for German police. The materials, execution, and function of this baton are paramount and the 16" is my daily companion. Note that my only experience is with the all-steel version of the Bonowi, as I like the added weight for impact and the demonstrated durability is beyond what I'd ever put this baton through (repeated strikes on bricks, walls, steel pipes, etc.and still closes effortlessly. Obviously what we have here is the Mercedes of batons!!!

16” steel Bonowi baton

This is my third Bonowi baton and they are one of the best batons that I’ve ever used. The service from Baton ware house has always been professional and had fast delivery time.
