NEX Steel Push Button Closing Batons:

The Nex  Steel Baton is the proven leader in easy-to-close extendable police batons. Nextorch has long been a manufacturer of high-quality flashlights & tools. They recently released a superior baton & locking structure known as the Nexlock Locking System & Nexlock Baton. These batons deploy with ease.  With just the flick of the wrist, this baton will extend and lock into place. The safety locking design will prevent this baton from retracting unless it is done so on purpose.

The Nex Baton has a textured rubber grip. The rubber grip is designed for maximum retention whether it is wet or dry. With the addition of optional accessories such as a glass breaking tip and a retention ring this baton is highly functional. Nex batons open easily and with authority every time and close very smoothly every time with the push of a button.

The NEX vane fan lock design subtly integrates every locking structure into one component, improving strength and reliability. Ingenious simplicity: they disassemble to only 4 components so there are fewer parts that could break. All NEX batons feature solid locking performance, smooth extension and retraction, and convenient assembly and maintenance. NEX batons are manufactured with precision CNC machines to ensure quality and consistency, making every NEX baton equally outstanding.

NEX batons will fit in NEX baton holders or the Envoy series baton holders from ASP.

A nice baton

I have carried an issued baton for over 20 years. This is one of the best quality and functionality I have had.

Auto Locking Fun

23" Model: This baton is a little heavier than my other batons, but I guess that is just more mass to hit with. It is not much harder than other batons to swing, it just requires a little practice. I really like being able to push a button to close the baton, this is much better than having to slam the baton on a hard surface in order to close it. Opening the baton is also easier since you can just grab the end and pull. There is a little rattle but I read that this is common for auto-lockers.
The grip is excellent, it is grippy without cutting into your hand.
Overall, I would recommend this baton

Excellent Button Collapsing Baton

Retired Correctional Peace Officer here. Started my career in 1989 with the side handle baton and transitioned to the collapsing baton the last 10 years of my career. Our issue brand was Monadnoc which also featured the button closure system and IMHO is a bit better than the ones that you have to strike on the ground to close. There is a distinct advantage to training with a baton that collapses with a single push of a button because it gets old really quick while doing quick draws and presentation drills and having to strike the baton on the ground for closure.Nex is just as good or maybe better than the Monadnoc in functionality and range of sizes available. It is very sturdy and appears to be able to stand up to many years of strikes on a bag , extensions and daily carry. Its weight is approximately the same of its competitors of equal size but the extended segments appear to be thicker than those of ASP, Smith and Wesson and Monadnoc. The grip is very tacky and can create some blisters during training so I would advise wearing gloves if you’re working out on a bag. I will admit that the grip on your typical ASP is a more comfortable foam but its longevity is not going to be as good as the one on the Nex.The only thing that I would like to see changed is adding a larger tip on the strike end , known as the power safety tip on the Monadnoc, to the Nex. It would prevent the combatant from getting cut and also concentrates the force on that one point, making it more effective. Care and maintaining the baton is pretty straightforward as removing the tailcap allows the disassembly and replacement of parts if needed. I purchased the flared tailcap to keep from having the baton slide out of my hand and also bought the baton holder but I didn’t really like the holder too much. For one, the holder is designed to extend the baton as you draw it out but when I practiced with it, I found that many times it wouldn’t lock the baton in its full open position. Also, the grip would drag quite a bit on the interior of the holder , significantly slowing the draw. I have purchased a regular nylon holder and that works for me just fine. Over all it a great baton and I will be carrying this when situations warrant such precautions. Be safe, keep alert, train often, stay strapped or get clapped.

Glad I Bought It, Hope Never to Use It

My second baton purchase from Baton Warehouse (21" steel Nex). As before, decent prices and timely delivery. The action appears to work far smoother and more reliably than my Monadnock Auto Lock. The weight and material feel substantial. This will be my EDC.
