I was a correctional officer in my youth in a maximum-security facility, where I was trained in and used the PR-24 during outside patrols. It was the equivalent of Baton Warehouse’s Monadnock PR-24 Rigid Side-Handle Black Baton with Trumbull Stop Handle. I purchased a Monadnock PR-24 Rigid Side-Handle Black Aluminum Baton for use in my truck as a less-lethal option to my handgun. I had imagined that the entire product was made of aluminum when I ordered it, but it turned out that everything was aluminum except the handle. The handle was polycarbonate and attached with an Allen screw. The description reads: This PR-24 baton has an all-aluminum construction. I’m okay with the Polycarbonate handle as long as it stays tight and the screw doesn't break under use, as that would be bad. The description should be edited to reflect the actual product. The only other thing I was disappointed about was that my new PR-24 came with a scratch on the aluminum tube. I would have expected it to be inspected before being boxed and shipped; the QC department should not have missed this. I didn’t. Other than these two discrepancies, I am still reasonably happy with the purchase. I will undoubtedly add some new scratches of my own while getting re-acquainted with its use.
