For some reason with the expansion of the use of the external vest in Law Enforcement there has been limited expansion in the options for LEO dedicated MOLLE pouches. Several brands make them, but they usually leave something to be desired. When I learned that ASP made their cuff and baton pouches to fit MOLLE or your belt I had to try it out. I received this scabbard with my new T50 ASP w/Foam Grip and placed it on my vest. There is room for improvement for this scabbard. First, with ASP's all in one approach for MOLLE or the belt, the clam shell belt loop has to be beefier to accommodate a duty belt. However when placed on MOLLE it causes a stand off from the MOLLE platform, so the pouch does not sit flat on the vest or bag. This standoff is about an eighth to a quarter of an inch. This allows the the pouch to wobble just a bit on the MOLLE platform. Second, the fit for the baton is just a hair looser than I would like. There is almost no resistance in pulling the baton from this scabbard. Being that this is on my vest I would like just a little tighter fit on the baton. Third, Due to the stand off of the scabbard from the MOLLE and the overall width of the scabbard it is difficult to squeeze in between some pouches. I like my pouches close together to maximize space on the vest and to reduce movement of the pouches. I had to try several locations on my vest until I found a spot on my vest that the baton was still effective and it sat right with out twisting and pulling of the MOLLE webbing. Even with these three issues this is still one of the best MOLLE baton holders I have used. It will remain in use with me until someone comes up with soothing better. It will not be replaced with anything else on the market anytime soon.
