NEX 39" Quic Air Riot Baton:

The NEX 39” riot baton is the longest expandable baton on the market. Constructed of aerospace grade aluminum and steel alloy this baton is strong and lightweight. Weighing in at 25.5oz and 39” long this baton can be used to create larger defensive zone. Also good for officers on horseback giving the officer enough length to form a defense. This extra long baton expands from 12.6 inches to 39 with a strong-arm swing. Closing the baton is easy, you just depress the button on the end of the handle with one hand and push the expanded shafts back into the handle.

Conflicted!

On the one hand, this is a very interesting spin on a modern melee weapon; on the other hand, it is very long for the intended use for riots or mounted forces, making the practicality questionable... I personally love training with it. The technology to make emergency response tools such as these are incredible, and the discussions around them are fun. As a riot tool, i can see this being a bit too long to use (compared to a club and shield combo), and for mounted officers you will def hit people in the head and vitals pretty easily (which is not recommended due to the lethality of tactical batons). Overall: i bought it on a whim and enjoy having it and training with it, however, unless you are out in the open and don't have to worry about hitting anybody in an actual fight, then yes it is a great tool; if i'm defending my apartment, sorry but i'm reaching for a baton that is ~24".

Impressive but limited

Impressive sight & sound when opening. Use is limited to 2 hand jabs & thrusts (as would be used in a riot). Too long (& therefore too slow) to swing as in general self defense (unless you do so closed - 12”). Glad I got it but it’s going to be an attention getter/novelty when I instruct a defensive tactics class.

The ultimate walking companion.

Fit and finish is excellent. Good for keeping angry dogs away and if you need it you can use it to help you walk. I would not want to get hit by this baton. The engraving on the baton is free and is hidden on the lowest section when the baton is closed. Have not tried the glass breaker yet but at least it is there in case I need it. I would buy another one if I lost or broke this one somehow. If you are thinking about buying a baton and it being long enough then you don't have to worry about that with this one. Sling it out or pull it out slowly by hand ether way it is still intimidating. You wont be disappointed with this purchase.

This baton’s extra length will keep any attacker at a distance plus the quick deployment will make him think twice
